Dragonfly effect… is that a movie title?
I am tired of existing and want to start living…I do not think the dragonfly story is about this life..it is about the coming life in a Christian perspective, though I wonder about the concept of "they will find out". From a Christian perspective, one must believe in Jesus Christ to find that new life..and that eternal life. Of course that belief is not something I have to judge (Praise the LORD), it is a heart issue that Jesus will judge. It does make me think of a parable..in Luke 16:19-31, where a rich man dies at the same time as a beggar. The rich man went down and the beggar went up, the rich man looked up and asked God to let the beggar dip the tip of his finger in water and cool his tongue. But God answered "between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want
to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to
us". Then the rich man begged that the beggar be sent back to earth to warn his 5 brothers, so that they would not end up where he was. (to read the full story http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=luke+16:19-31)
I wonder sometimes if I do not do enough to tell people about the Jesus I believe in. I don’t want anyone to be left out from the riches of His kingdom, and I know 100% He doesn’t want that either (even more than me) because He gave His life, and more. He not only died but suffered excruciating pain, the shame of bearing the sins of this world (imagine that ..even the worst sins), having a Holy Father look away from Him (bear in mind Jesus had never been outside of the Father’s vision..presence) and going to "hell and back" to make a way for us to be with the Father.
I guess part of my experience in my life will be me sharing Jesus with those I meet. I am trying to make improvements to my life, to LIVE it. Anyway here is the Dragonfly story.
Once, in a little pond, in the muddy water under the lily pads,
there lived a little water beetle in a community of water
beetles. They lived a simple and comfortable life in the pond
with few disturbances and interruptions.
Once in a while, sadness would come to the community when one of
their fellow beetles would climb the stem of a lily pad and
would never be seen again. They knew when this happened; their
friend was dead, gone forever.
Then, one day, one little water beetle felt an irresistible urge
to climb up that stem. However, he was determined that he would
not leave forever. He would come back and tell his friends what
he had found at the top.
When he reached the top and climbed out of the water onto the
surface of the lily pad, he was so tired, and the sun felt so
warm, that he decided he must take a nap. As he slept, his body
changed and when he woke up, he had turned into a beautiful
blue-tailed dragonfly with broad wings and a slender body
designed for flying.
So, fly he did! And, as he soared he saw the beauty of a whole
new world and a far superior way of life to what he had never
Then he remembered his beetle friends and how they were thinking
by now he was dead. He wanted to go back to tell them, and
explain to them that he was now more alive than he had ever been
before. His life had been fulfilled rather than ended.
But, his new body would not go down into the water. He could
not get back to tell his friends the good news. Then he
understood that their time would come, when they, too, would
know what he now knew. So, he raised his wings and flew off
into his joyous new life!
